I'm not sure who's showing the baby more, myself or Megan.
Little "Blu" [as he/she has been nicknamed, mainly because of a conversation that revolved around the little guy/girl being the size of a blueberry at one stage] is the reason for
Preggy Meggy's tummy...kak-loads of bad food is the reason for mine. As is not too much sleep (the Olympics isn't helping), a hectic work schedule (thanks, elections) and an exercise routine that isn't going too well. But mainly it's the food.
So far, since we found out in April that Megan was pregnant, I've gained 5kg. Thankfully, it seems that
I'm not alone, and it's even described as a "
surprising pregnancy symptom for dads". But common or not, it's not a good thing. Not in the least. I guess that, at some point, I realised that I was going to get a dad bod -- and that's not a bad thing at all (
as my colleagues wrote a little while ago) -- I just didn't think that I'd have a bod the size of two dads combined!

I'm carrying fabulously! |
This post is likely to get me mocked (here's looking at you, Morningside Maulers!) but that's okay. I don't mind it, because I want to share some of the real things that happen so that, maybe, other dads-to-be won't feel strange when it happens.
What I'm really, hoping, though, is that you might be able to help. Fellow dads (and dads-to-be), let's get the conversation going. Did you gain weight? How much? Why? Have you lost it? How? HELP ME!
