So I guess this is my life now...

It was a moment that will forever be burnt into my memory. The crunching. The stamping. The sitting. The terror. The emotion. I'll never forget just how that piece of popcorn was thrust, clearly against its will, so deep into that carpet that it will surely never truly escape.

It was a sunny, lovely Saturday morning when this happened. I was at the Queen Mary Avenue Church of Christ building in Durban for the one-year birthday party of a friend's awesome little kid. And it was inside this holy place, with what felt like thousands of children running amok, that I saw my future flash before my eyes. It was a pleasant enough future...but a future that made me realise just how much my life will change when my kid is born.

You always know that children are hard work, are messy and are always active. But you don't really know until you see it unfolding in front of you, do you? Those little ones were kicking things, throwing things, standing on things, sitting on things... And they weren't even being naughty; they were just being children. IT WAS TERRIFYING!

So I guess this is my life now...and I simply cannot wait.
