Hug your child tightly, and #HelpFindDurbanBaby

It's like a gut punch that you never saw coming. A one-month-old taken in an apparent hijacking in Durban on Friday shortly before midday. Little Siwaphiwe hasn't been seen since.

There are theories going around, including that she was the target. I have my suspicions. But, honestly, that doesn't matter right now. What matters is that she is warm, safe and fed.

I'll be reporting on this story today from the office. Alice isn't with me. I wish she was. But more than anything, I wish that Siwaphiwe was home.

As a new parent, stories like these hurt. It could've been me. It could've been my child. Hug your child tightly today, and say a prayer many prayers, and spare multiple thoughts, for the safe return of Siwaphiwe. If you can, get involved in the search (Montclair police station has been a rallying point). Share this picture far and wide -- the more people who see it, the greater chance someone will recognise her.
