It's
taken a while, but Alice has finally started wearing
shoes. Yep, she was that barefoot wanderer, missioning everywhere with her
naked toes on display. Even getting her to wear socks was a tall ask.
Then
all of a sudden, as if she decided that she was now a big girl, she had
decided she actually likes shoes.
The
problem is, we don’t have any -- well, not ones that fit her, anyway. We had a whole bunch, including a pair I bought it Iran, that are now too small. The only ones that fit her size 3 feet are the most gorgeous Kedo pink polka dot ones [from Aunty Kay] and some PnP Clothing “Super
Baby” boots from her Aunty Nivashni. She squeezes, just, into a pair of pumps. But that's about it.
The solution, then? Shoe shopping!
The solution, then? Shoe shopping!
This
weekend we decided to take advantage of the Woolworths quality sale and grab a few
pairs. We weren’t disappointed - and neither was Alice.
Half-price
sandals, slip-slops and takkies, gumboots and slippers. They were all there.
And Alice tried to steal a few of them. I’m not joking. She literally grabbed a
pair [which we ended up buying] and a single gumboot, and tried to run out the store. I have video to prove it.
All
in all, we grabbed three pairs [and a cute pair of tights] and the bill was
just R303. That’s a bargain, given that one pair wasn’t even on sale [daddy
just liked them so much he HAD to buy them - and Alice looks pretty damn great
in them, which is remarkable given that I need all the help I can get dressing her].
