Got sole: Kiddie shoe shopping success at the Woolies sale

It's taken a while, but Alice has finally started wearing shoes. Yep, she was that barefoot wanderer, missioning everywhere with her naked toes on display. Even getting her to wear socks was a tall ask.

Then all of a sudden, as if she decided that she was now a big girl, she had decided she actually likes shoes.

The problem is, we don’t have any -- well, not ones that fit her, anyway. We had a whole bunch, including a pair I bought it Iran, that are now too small. The only ones that fit her size 3 feet are the most gorgeous Kedo pink polka dot ones [from Aunty Kay] and some PnP Clothing “Super Baby” boots from her Aunty Nivashni. She squeezes, just, into a pair of pumps. But that's about it.

The solution, then? Shoe shopping!

This weekend we decided to take advantage of the Woolworths quality sale and grab a few pairs. We weren’t disappointed - and neither was Alice.

Half-price sandals, slip-slops and takkies, gumboots and slippers. They were all there. And Alice tried to steal a few of them. I’m not joking. She literally grabbed a pair [which we ended up buying] and a single gumboot, and tried to run out the store. I have video to prove it.

All in all, we grabbed three pairs [and a cute pair of tights] and the bill was just R303. That’s a bargain, given that one pair wasn’t even on sale [daddy just liked them so much he HAD to buy them - and Alice looks pretty damn great in them, which is remarkable given that I need all the help I can get dressing her].

My schmodel, in a dress and shoes chosen by me. :)
If this is my life now, taking my baby girl shoe shopping, then sign me up. Because I couldn’t be happier.

The shoe haul, including the [now dirty] pair that she wore the day after.
